(Laramie, Wyo.) – Another new scam has broken out in Wyoming. According to a notice posted on Social Media Friday, the Laramie Police would like you to know of a recent texting fraud in which you may receive information that your local bank account has been frozen. The scam instructs the phone owner to follow an attached procedure to reactivate your account. DO NOT DO THIS.
If you have questions regarding your current bank accounts, call the number on the back of your debit card or go into the local branch and speak with a representative. Please advise family members to delete the text or email and follow up with your local bank if you receive such a message.
If you are a Summit National Bank Customer and receive any email or text that you are unsure about please contact your local SNB Branch or the Operation Center at 800-758-1741
