Summit National Bank originated as Hulett National Bank in 1984 by the citizens in and around this town of 400 in Northeastern Wyoming. They saw that rural America was changing and knew that by creating and building the basic needs of that community they could fight the many challenges of small towns across the country were seeing. Medical, educational, commercial, and retail services are all necessary in keeping a community prosperous and a community bank is the back-bone of supporting all those entities. By forming Hulett National Bank, they were able to fit that need.
In 1998 the bank saw the opportunity to help other small towns just like Hulett so it began an expansion strategy that still exists today; to go into underserved towns that needed banking services. The bank’s expansion efforts led it to open two other branches in Wyoming; Ten Sleep and Baggs.
Hulett National Bank unified the names of all three branches in Wyoming in 2004 and became known as Summit National Bank. Since that time SNB has added all the modern banking conveniences along with two additional locations; Salmon, Idaho & Ekalaka, Montana. Summit National Bank and its employees strive to support and build the communities they are in and look forward to a great future for all the people they serve!
